Main Purpose and Context of the Job

Responsible for the management of the Planning Team, Planning systems and forecast updates and communications. To deliver structure balance plans in line with business requirements and production efficiencies.

To communicate to both internal and external stakeholders on stock positions, material issues/ challenges and any risks to plans and service to customers.

As a Senior Manager to the business, ensure that best practices are followed in the food safety, Legality and quality of our products.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and direction of production operational activities. Providing efficient, cost-controlled plans which are signed off by production to deliver the business agree service targets for our customers.
  • Continually develop and improve planning methods and systems.
  • Develop and support staff in all areas, delegating appropriate responsibility for maintaining systems, procedures and Forecasts.
  • Liaise with Customers and Account Managers to continually make improvements to the Forecast Systems.
  • To work with replenishment and procurement teams to ensure that material forecasts reflect promotions, launches and uplifts for business needs.
  • Improve scheduling to maximize commercial benefit, and to challenge other departments to improve and maximize opportunities and to risk plans.
  • To be responsible for updating capacity models and to work with the Head of Supply Chain on forward planning and communicating with stakeholders through the S&OP process
  • Define in good time the Christmas and Easter plans.
  • Plan to critical issues as defined by the site director.

Previous Experience (required to perform duties satisfactorily)

  • Extensive experience of FMCG with short-shelf-life products.
  • Experience Planning systems development
  • Multi-site planning experience and communications
  • Team development and objection KPI
  • Experience of using ERP and MRP systems
