Role Overview
- To ensure that all customer specifications, pack copies and artwork are accurately set up and relevant customer documentation is produced in line with critical path timescales and launch deadlines.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Ensure due diligence and take into consideration timescales, company procedures, legislation along with customer codes of practices.
- Set up, for approval, all external customer specifications or relevant technical information in accordance with customer specification requirements
- Ensure compliance with updated customer technical policies, current labelling standards and include all regulatory changes that will impact back of pack information
- Follow the Group Stage and Gate process, ensuring this is followed and attend the required meetings for your customers.
- Communication with all relevant internal departments and external parties to ensure that specification compliance is achieved within realistic timescales.
- Attend all relevant internal and external customer meetings relating to the customers that you deliver specifications for.
- To work with the other specification technologists to be able to deliver all customer requirements across the group, so we have at least 2 trained team members for every customer.
- The responsibility for managing the review of artwork to ensure that all pack information is accurate and in line with the technical labelling policies.
- To issue outer case labels and maintain the archive for all of the sites.
- Complete 1-2 Internal audits at each site under the direction of the Group Technical Services Manager and Group Audit Manager. Support as part of the internal audit team.
- To ensure that Oscar Mayer site documentation is completed for all aspects related to specification process.
- Any other duties or projects as agreed with the Group Technical Services Manager.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Qualification
- Food Safety Level 3 as a minimum
- HACCP Level 3 as a minimum
- Labelling Qualification / Training
- Food Law Qualification (desirable)
- Knowledge & Experience
- Worked in specifications for a minimum of 2 years.
- 2 years’ experience within Chilled Manufacturing (High Care and / or High Risk).
- Understands customer specification systems (retailers)
- Understands specification systems (branded desirable)
