Role Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our clients engineering and support teams in the delivery of high-quality electrical and mechanical services for their commercial clients. You will be the backbone of their service delivery, ensuring jobs are executed on time, within budget, and to a standard that delights. You’ll champion leadership behaviours, drive operational excellence, and foster a high-performance culture across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Driven
- Deliver outstanding operational service that aligns with client needs and expectations.
- Act as the escalation point for clients, resolving issues swiftly and transparently.
- Proactively gather client feedback to continually enhance delivery standards.
- Manage and support a team of engineers, supervisors, and coordinators across multiple projects.
- Promote a positive, inclusive team environment where everyone contributes to success.
- Work in partnership with commercial, compliance, and technical teams.
- Oversee the delivery of reactive, planned, and project-based electrical services.
- Ensure compliance with H&S, technical standards, and contractual SLAs.
- Own project P&Ls and resource planning to maximise efficiency and margin.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers and support staff, building future leaders.
- Introduce tools, training, and processes that raise performance and safety.
- Continuously improve systems and workflows to drive operational excellence.
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with clients, team members, and senior leadership.
- Provide regular reports on performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead toolbox talks, performance reviews, and team briefings with confidence and care.
- Meet or exceed KPIs for quality, safety, client satisfaction, and cost control.
- Identify and address issues that affect delivery or profitability.
- Champion a results-driven culture that rewards delivery and accountability.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience managing operational delivery in the FM or M&E sector.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, compliance requirements, and FM delivery models.
- Proven leadership and people management skills in a technical environment.
- Calm under pressure, highly organised, and commercially aware.
