Our client is a well-established precision engineering company and are seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Miller to join its modern machine shop. The role involves setting, operating and optimising CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components to tight tolerances across a range of high-performance engineering sectors.
Key Responsibilities:- Set, operate and optimise CNC milling machines (3, 4 & 5-axis)
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings
- Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances
- Carry out in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers and gauges
- Complete works order route cards and maintain component traceability
- Edit CNC programs where authorised
- Support job planning and provide technical input where required
- Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and housekeeping
- Report quality or process issues promptly
- Proven CNC milling experience within a precision engineering environment
- Strong drawing interpretation skills
- Confident using precision measuring equipment
- Able to self-inspect own work
- Quality-focused with strong attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual and process-driven
- Experience with 5-axis machining
- Heidenhain control knowledge
- CAD/CAM experience (e.g. Hypermill)
- Experience machining a range of engineering materials
- 40-hour week with flexible start/finish times
- Site CORE hours: Mon–Thurs 6am–6pm | Fri 6am–2pm - flexibility on start and finish times are available, the company is very supportive.
- 20 days holiday + bank holidays
- Additional holiday with service (up to 25 days)
