We are looking for an experienced Security Services Production Specialist to join a technical operations team supporting a complex enterprise security environment. This is a fully remote, hands-on production/BAU role, responsible for maintaining and supporting critical Security Services technologies, troubleshooting complex incidents, and helping ensure the continued availability and performance of the network and security environment.
As a Security Services Production Specialist, you will act as a technical subject matter expert within the Security Services environment. You will be responsible for investigating and resolving business-impacting incidents, supporting day-to-day operations, and working closely with technical teams, suppliers and stakeholders to restore services and minimise disruption. You will also contribute to proactive network reviews, disaster recovery testing, operational improvements and the ongoing development of technical documentation and runbooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on operational support across the Security Services environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security incidents.
- Support technologies including SkyHigh Web Gateway, Trellix DLP, F5 SSLO, FortiGate/Check Point Firewalls and Trend Micro IDS/IPS.
- Support associated technologies including Load Balancing, DNS, DHCP and IPAM/DDI.
- Participate in incident triage, investigation and service restoration.
- Conduct proactive network reviews and disaster recovery testing.
- Identify vulnerabilities, operational risks and opportunities to improve network observability.
- Work with senior technical teams and stakeholders to assess impact and communicate technical updates.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, application flows, runbooks and operational procedures.
- Ensure production governance and technical standards are followed during troubleshooting, testing and remediation.
- Work effectively with internal teams, external suppliers and stakeholders across different levels of the organisation.
About You
You will have a strong operational mindset and be comfortable working in a production environment where incidents need to be prioritised and resolved efficiently. You should have experience with:
- Network and security technologies within a production/operations environment.
- Proxy/Web Gateway technologies, ideally SkyHigh.
- Firewalls, particularly FortiGate and/or Check Point.
- F5 Load Balancing / SSLO.
- DLP and IDS/IPS technologies.
- TCP/IP, UDP, DNS and authentication.
- Troubleshooting complex networking problems.
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, NetScout, Splunk, SevOne or HPNA.
- Incident and problem management processes.
- JIRA, Confluence and Agile/Scrum environments.
- Configuration management and network automation processes.
- Working with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicating effectively during incidents.
Desirable Experience
- Python, Ansible, YAML or API-based automation.
- Broader networking experience across LAN, WAN, MAN, routing, switching, DDI and AAA.
- Relevant networking/security certifications.
- Cloud networking experience.
- Experience working within Financial Services, including banking, insurance or investment banking.
- Experience working within Agile environments.
Contract Details
- Contract Duration: Approximately 10 months
- Rate: £550-£600 per day
- Location: Fully remote
