I’m currently working with a well-established financial services technology consultancy based in the Oxford area. The business specialises in delivering complex, high-volume systems for banks, FinTech's, and payment providers, with projects heavily focused on payment integrations and gateway platforms.
Opportunity
This is a hybrid role, ideally requiring three days per week in the office, and offers exposure to a wide range of client projects rather than a single internal product. You’ll be working in regulated, transaction-heavy environments where quality, scalability, and security are critical.
Responsibilities
- Designing and building solutions using .NET Framework
- Delivering projects centred around payment gateways, integrations, and transactional systems
- Developing front-end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular or React preferred)
- Deploying and maintaining applications in Microsoft Azure
- Working with containerised environments and Kubernetes
- Collaborating with senior engineers, architects, and client stakeholders
- Owning code quality, best practices, and technical decision‑making
- Mentoring junior and mid‑level engineers
Qualifications
- 5-10 years' commercial software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in .NET Framework (modern .NET/.NET Core exposure beneficial)
- Experience with Angular or React
- Proven hands‑on experience with Azure
- Experience working with Kubernetes
- Background in financial services, ideally with payments exposure
- Experience with payment integrations, gateways, or high‑volume transactional systems
- Demonstrated mentoring or technical leadership experience
- Comfortable working in a consultancy or client‑facing environment

- Previous consultancy experience
