A large, multi-site organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join its infrastructure projects and engineering function, supporting enterprise-scale transformation and modernisation initiatives across hybrid environments. This role combines hands-on infrastructure engineering with a strong focus on identity, access management and Microsoft cloud technologies. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing and supporting secure, scalable infrastructure solutions across both cloud and on-premise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and support enterprise infrastructure solutions across hybrid environments
- Deliver infrastructure and identity-focused projects from discovery through to implementation
- Lead technical delivery aligned to operational standards, security requirements and business objectives
- Support identity and access management solutions using Microsoft Entra and associated technologies
- Manage authentication, provisioning and application integration activities
- Act as a senior technical escalation point and provide guidance across infrastructure teams
- Collaborate with security, development and end-user computing teams to deliver secure and supportable solutions
- Contribute to infrastructure standards, governance, automation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support ongoing infrastructure modernisation and technology roadmap activities
Required Experience
- Strong enterprise infrastructure engineering background across cloud and hybrid environments
- Experience delivering infrastructure projects within complex business environments
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID and identity/access technologies
- Experience implementing Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, RBAC and privileged access controls
- Knowledge of authentication and integration technologies including SAML, OAuth and OpenID Connect
- Understanding of identity lifecycle management and governance controls
- PowerShell scripting and automation experience
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Okta or similar identity providers
- VMware and Microsoft Azure infrastructure experience
- SCIM provisioning knowledge
- Understanding of Joiner/Mover/Leaver processes
- Experience with Azure PIM, entitlement management and access reviews
- Knowledge of Azure B2C and customer identity solutions
- Exposure to Microsoft Purview and M365 DLP tools
- Experience within security-focused or compliance-driven environments
- Hybrid identity and Active Directory to Entra migration experience
