A client of ours is looking for an experienced Security Proxy Engineer to support and enhance its enterprise proxy and secure egress environment. This will be within a large-scale Modern Desktop transformation, where high-performing internet access is critical to both user productivity and regulatory compliance. You will play a key role in ensuring the proxy layer is aligned to strict security and governance standards, while also providing hands-on operational support.
Location: London, 3 days on site
Rate: £500-£600p/day (Inside IR35)
Contract length: 6 months (very strong possibility of extension due to the length of the project)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day operational support for enterprise web proxy and secure egress platforms, acting as an escalation point for complex issues
- Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues using network tracing and packet-level analysis
- Implement and manage proxy policies, including traffic steering, access control and inspection rules
- Work closely with security, network and infrastructure teams
Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise proxy or secure web gateway technologies such as Zscaler, Netskope or Bluecoat
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, TLS/SSL and authentication flows
- Experience troubleshooting at packet level and resolving complex inspection or routing issues
- Ability to operate effectively in a BAU-focused engineering role
- Desirable Experience in highly regulated environments
