I'm working with a rapidly scaling UK-based company that's looking to bring in a Senior Full Stack PHP (Laravel) Developer to play a key role in shaping backend systems and supporting product expansion. This is a hands-on senior role with real ownership. You'll work closely with senior technical leadership to design and evolve APIs, improve system performance, and help define how platforms scale securely and reliably.
Responsibilities
- Leading backend development using PHP and Laravel across several products
- Working with frontend frameworks using React and/or Vue.js
- Designing and maintaining APIs, services and integrations
- Taking ownership of database design, optimisation and performance
- Collaborating with frontend and product teams to deliver robust user-facing features
- Supporting deployment, hosting and infrastructure improvements
- Reviewing code, mentoring other developers and raising engineering standards
Qualifications
- Strong commercial experience with Laravel and modern PHP
- Confident working with databases and API-driven architectures
- Solid knowledge of frontend fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and React & Vue.js
- Experience working in cloud-based environments (AWS preferred)
- Someone who enjoys problem-solving, ownership and collaborative working
