This is not a ticket-factory support role. You'll be joining a business where Applications Support sits at the heart of operations, working closely with product, data, finance and operational teams to keep core systems running smoothly, improve processes, and make life easier for users across the organisation. You'll be trusted to take ownership of key applications, investigate root causes rather than just close tickets, and play a genuine role in improving how the business uses technology. If you enjoy solving problems, understanding how systems connect, and being the person people rely on when things matter, this is a role where you'll thrive.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting and maintaining business-critical applications across finance, operations and customer systems
- Acting as the escalation point for complex issues that require investigation and root-cause analysis
- Working closely with internal teams to understand how systems are used and where they can be improved
- Managing incidents, changes and releases to ensure stability and minimal disruption
- Producing clear documentation, knowledge articles and process improvements
- Helping to onboard new systems, features and users into the business
- Working with third-party vendors and internal developers to resolve defects and deliver enhancements
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in an Applications Support, Systems Support, Business Systems or similar role
- Strong problem-solving ability and a desire to understand systems rather than just follow scripts
- Comfortable working with databases, logs, workflows or system integrations
- Confident communicating with both technical teams and non-technical users
- Organised, reliable and comfortable taking ownership of issues end-to-end
Nice to have but not essential:
- Experience supporting ERP, CRM, Finance or SaaS platforms
- SQL or reporting experience
- Exposure to change management, ITIL or release processes
What you’ll get:
- A role with genuine ownership, not just reactive support
- Exposure to multiple systems and how they connect across the business
- A team that values quality, improvement and collaboration
- Clear progression into Senior Applications, Product, Business Systems or Project roles
- Hybrid working and a supportive, flexible culture
- Competitive salary, bonus and benefits package
Who this is perfect for:
Someone who is currently in Applications Support, Systems Support or 2nd Line and wants:
- More responsibility
- More influence
- Better exposure to the business and decision-making
- A clearer long-term career path
