Our client is looking for an experienced Lab Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise testing environment based within a data centre setting in West Yorkshire. The role is focused on the planning, building, co-ordinating and operating of enterprise test environments prior to enterprise rollout. It is a technically deep position requiring someone who fully understands enterprise infrastructure on an end-to-end basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support, operate and maintain a large-scale on-premise enterprise test lab environment
  • Validate firewall, switching, storage and virtualisation configurations
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
  • Handle IP management, network connectivity, SAN storage, and VMware environments
  • Maintain accurate documentation and workflow tracking via JIRA
  • Translate infrastructure requirements into structured test builds
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network and security teams

Required Experience:

  • Experience supporting, operating and maintaining on-premise test labs
  • Knowledge of SANs and enterprise storage technologies
  • Experience working with Juniper network infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise switching technologies
  • Experience supporting compute virtualisation in large-scale environments
  • Experience working within enterprise-level organisations
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and validation capabilities
  • Experience using JIRA
  • Strong experience working with VMware, especially VMware ESXI
  • Experience managing enterprise IP addresses and networks
