Our client is a well-established and growing name in the signage industry, working across both static and digital signage projects for clients spanning a wide range of sectors. As the business continues to expand, they are looking to strengthen their commercial leadership with the appointment of a Head of Sales / Sales Manager.
THE ROLE
This is a genuine leadership opportunity for an experienced signage sales professional to take ownership of the commercial function. You will manage and develop a team of two salespeople, working above them to set direction, drive performance and win new business, while also playing a hands-on role in growing key accounts. A key focus of the role will be growing the company's presence in the public sector, particularly with hospitals, universities and colleges, so experience selling into these environments would be a strong advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, manage and motivate a team of two salespeople, setting targets and supporting their development
- Drive new business development across both static and digital signage
- Build and maintain a strong client base, managing relationships from first contact through to contract negotiation and delivery
- Identify and pursue opportunities within the public sector, including hospitals, universities and colleges
- Negotiate deals ranging from £10,000-£50,000 (static signage) up to £25,000-£200,000 (digital signage)
- Work closely with senior leadership to shape and deliver the company's overall sales strategy
- Represent the business at client meetings and site visits, requiring regular travel
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
- Proven experience within the signage industry, ideally covering both digital and static signage
- A strong track record in business development and winning new business
- Confident, experienced negotiator, comfortable managing high-value deals
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and develop a small team
- An existing client base within the signage sector is highly desirable
- Public sector sales experience (hospitals, universities, colleges) is beneficial but not essential
PACKAGE & WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
- Basic Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
- OTE: £25,000 - £30,000
- Commission: 3-5% of margin
- Deal Sizes: Static £10,000-£50,000 | Digital £25,000-£200,000
- Working Pattern: 2 days per week in the office, plus travel for client meetings and site visits
