About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading training provider of digital and professional skills training, delivering high-quality apprenticeship programmes to learners and employers across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and passionate AI & Data Coach to support learners undertaking Level 4-7 Data and AI apprenticeship programmes. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Scientist, Data Analyst, AI Specialist, Business Intelligence professional or Digital Skills Coach who is passionate about developing emerging talent and helping apprentices apply technical concepts in the workplace.

The Role

As an AI & Data Coach, you will manage a caseload of apprentices, providing high-quality coaching, mentoring and developmental support throughout their apprenticeship journey to ensure successful completion and progression. Working remotely as part of a collaborative delivery team, you will support learners through regular coaching sessions, progress reviews and EPA preparation, helping them to develop both their technical capabilities and professional behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of apprentices across Levels 4-7.
  • Deliver engaging one-to-one and group coaching sessions aligned to apprenticeship standards.
  • Conduct regular progress reviews with learners and employer stakeholders.
  • Support learners in developing their Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs).
  • Review and provide detailed feedback on portfolio evidence, assignments and workplace projects.
  • Prepare learners for Gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Work closely with employers to ensure apprentices are applying learning effectively in the workplace.
  • Maintain accurate learner records in accordance with funding and compliance requirements.
  • Promote safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the learner journey.

Essential Requirements

  • Significant commercial experience within Data Analytics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence or a related discipline.
  • Strong practical experience with technologies such as: Python, SQL, Power BI and/or Tableau, Excel, Machine Learning frameworks and tools.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, training or developing adults.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, engaging and practical manner.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage a learner caseload effectively and work autonomously.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience delivering or coaching apprenticeship programmes.
  • Experience supporting learners on Level 4-7 apprenticeship standards.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship funding and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting learners through Gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • A recognised teaching, coaching or training qualification (AET, PTLLS, PGCE, etc.).
  • Assessor qualification (CAVA, TAQA, A1 or equivalent).
  • Industry certifications in Data, AI or Cloud technologies (Microsoft, AWS, Google, Databricks, etc.).
