Our client is looking for Data Centre Engineers for a 9-month contract. This role will suit someone who is confident working hands on with compute infrastructure while supporting virtualised environments across both Windows and Linux platforms. It is important you have previous experience working in this role.
Contract Details
- Rate: £350-£370p/day (Inside IR35)
- Location: Yorkshire (specific location TBC)
- Duration: 9 months (Initially)
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain data centre compute infrastructure (physical servers, racks, blades, HCI)
- Installing, upgrading, and maintaining physical server hardware
- Supporting virtualised platforms and resolving VM-related issues
- Racking/Stacking!
- Supporting both Windows and Linux server environments
- Handling hardware faults, firmware updates, and supplier RMAs
Qualifications
- Strong hands‑on experience in data centre or on‑prem compute environments
- Practical experience with virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper‑V, KVM)
- Solid understanding of server hardware, firmware, and asset lifecycle management
- Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar)
- Windows and/or Linux server administration experience
Candidates will be required to go through background checks before commencing contract. Must be eligible to live and work in the specified work location. Some occasional travel may be required. Only successful candidates will be contacted.
