We're partnered with a well‑established Managed Service Provider based in Derby that supports a broad range of SME and mid‑market clients across the region. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to bring in a capable 2nd Line Support Engineer to strengthen their technical team. This is an onsite, hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, technical ownership, and working across multiple customer environments.
Responsibilities
- Act as a 2nd line escalation point for service desk tickets
- Support and administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP
- Support Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
- Work with Azure AD / Entra ID and basic Intune policies
- Troubleshoot networking issues across switches, firewalls, VPNs, and Wi‑Fi
- Support backup, restore, and DR processes using MSP tooling
- Assist with client onboarding, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements
- Take ownership of issues and work directly with customers to resolution
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a 2nd Line Support role (MSP experience preferred)
- Strong Microsoft stack knowledge and solid troubleshooting skills
- Confident communicating with users and managing technical incidents
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment
- Keen to continue developing technically and progressing longer term
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Hyper‑V virtualisation
- Basic Azure infrastructure experience
- Experience working across multiple client environments
