Web Developer in Eastbourne

Web Developer | 2 Month Contract | Outside IR35 | Brighton

We’re supporting a Brighton-based business building a new internal B2B web platform and are looking for a hands‑on Web Developer to help deliver an MVP at pace. This is a short‑term contract to begin with, but there\’s clear scope for extension or longer‑term involvement for the right person.

Location: Brighton (2-3 days onsite)

Contract: 2 Months (extension likely)

Rate: £#removed# p/day DOE

Start: ASAP

What You’ll be doing

• Building a custom WordPress‑based application (framework use)

• Developing custom plugins and database‑driven functionality

• Implementing secure authentication, user roles, and permissions

• Handling PDF generation and document workflows

• Integrating email services using OAuth

• Building internal notifications and simple workflow logic

• Working closely with founders/stakeholders to ship an MVP quickly

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience using WordPress as a development framework

• Comfortable writing custom PHP, working with databases (MySQL), and building plugins

• Experience with authentication, permissions, and secure data handling

• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

• Proven experience delivering MVPs or internal tools under time pressure

• Practical, product‑minded approach – focused on outcomes, not perfection
