I'm working with a well-established, data-driven software company operating on a global scale that is looking to appoint a Senior Web Developer to join its Leeds-based engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join the business during a significant phase of technical transformation. The team is in the process of migrating its front-end applications to a more modern, high-performance, and user-friendly web architecture, and is looking for an experienced developer to help shape this journey.
The Role
As a Senior Web Developer, you will be a key technical contributor within the team, influencing best practices and architectural decisions. The role has a strong focus on React and modern front-end development, while also offering the opportunity to work across the stack, contributing to Java-based APIs and backend services that support real-time, data-heavy applications. You will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to deliver clean, intuitive user interfaces and ensure the platform remains secure, scalable, and performant as it continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build modern full-stack web applications using React and TypeScript
- Develop and integrate Java REST APIs
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technical standards
- Build intuitive, user-friendly interfaces with a strong emphasis on UX

Skills and Experience
- Senior-level commercial experience (7 years) with React and TypeScript
- Experience developing Java backends and RESTful APIs
- Comfortable working on large, evolving codebases
- Strong collaboration and communication skills

- Modern front-end tooling and state management (e.g. Redux, TanStack Query)
- UX-focused front-end development experience
- Exposure to Spring, SQL, and Hibernate
