An opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated manufacturing site in Wednesfield, Wolverhampton. This role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary shift team to ensure production equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to breakdowns, performing planned preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and maintain production performance.
Responsibilities
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and diagnose electrical faults quickly to restore production.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and parts usage using Pirana maintenance management system.
- Identify recurring faults and contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and promote safe working practices.
- Maintain good housekeeping and operational standards across production lines.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent practical training.
- Strong electrical maintenance and fault finding experience in an industrial environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a shift team.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices in manufacturing environments.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working in high-volume or automated production environments.
- Familiarity with Pirana or other CMMS maintenance systems.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
