Our client is a Local Authority based in Devon and they are seeking an experienced Team Manager for their Development Team. You will be responsible for the day to day management of an Area Team, managing Senior and Officer level Planners.
Responsibilities
- Team management including workload allocation and managing performance to ensure individual and teams work effectively and local and service performance indicators are met.
- Responsible to ensure all advice, recommendations and decisions (both as an individual and of team) comply with all relevant regulations and legislation, and appropriately consider representations from individuals and groups.
- Take an active role as part of the Development Management service management team including participating/contributing to long term strategic decisions and policy making.
Qualifications
Applicants for this post must be qualified Town Planners with experience of managing a team of Planning Officers and of working for a local authorities town planning team. Your strong technical knowledge of UK planning legislation will need to be complemented with good management skills and the confidence and ability to direct a team. Critical to this role will be the ability to communicate effectively and to engage in negotiations that can often be sensitive and complex so you will need to be able to engage productively with third parties to develop good relationships that ensure successful development.
Contract
The post is a contract role which will initially run for 6 months, and our client is open to discussions around rates. This role is inside IR35.
