Our client is a Local Authority in East London and they require a Technical Support Officer to join them for a contract role. This role sits within our client's Planning and Strategic Transport Division and they are looking for an Officer to process Building Control applications.

You will be required to provide an efficient front-line customer contact service acting as a point of contact for providing information, advice and assistance in regards to Building Control issues, manage data processing and deal with a high volume of telephone calls. You will be required to deal with customers in a polite, courteous, efficient and effective manner at all times, taking into account their individual needs.

You will:

  • ? Apply and continually update knowledge of planning/building control legislation in relation to the application of administrative processes and best practice
  • ? To ensure quality and efficiency of validations and business support functionality in line with best working practice and statutory requirements.
  • ? To validate building regulations applications, initial notices, amendments and cancellation notices, including dangerous Structure notices, and related fee calculations and consultations
  • ? To carry out financial functions (raising invoices (internal and external) chasing payments). Request purchase orders and GRN for all invoices for subscriptions and membership payment.

In order to be considered for this role you must have worked in a similar position for a Local Authorities Building Control team. Good communication skills are essential and you will need to be confident on the phone.

The initial contract will be offered until late March 2027 and the rate offered is Β£29/hr umbrella. Our client offers hybrid working with 2 days a week based in the office.
