Our client, a Local Authority based in the Home Counties, North of London, is looking for an experienced Team Leader to provide agency cover for their Housing Regulatory Compliance team, maintaining effective leadership and operational continuity until a permanent appointment is made.

The role covers the day-to-day management and co-ordination of Private Sector Housing, and Public Protection, including HMO and Mobile Homes licensing, overcrowding, filthy and verminous premises, and enforcement of private drains and sewers.

You'll direct resources and workload, lead on enforcement actions and prosecution files, provide professional guidance to team members and stakeholders, and ensure service delivery remains compliant with Council policy, the Enforcement Concordat, and statutory obligations.

Candidates will ideally hold a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health together with an EHORB Certificate of Registration however it is critical you have substantial post-registration Management experience across housing, and public protection.

A detailed working knowledge of HHSRS, HMO licensing, air quality regulation, and public health-related housing issues is essential, as is proven experience preparing and delivering successful prosecution files and coaching less experienced officers.

You'll need demonstrable experience managing and co-ordinating a team, strong independent decision-making skills, and the ability to adapt to change and drive service improvements.

A full driving licence and use of a vehicle for business purposes are required.

This role pays £50 per hour (Umbrella), based North of London.
