Our client, a local authority in East London, is looking for a Noise Officer to join its Environmental Health team. You will investigate noise complaints from residents and businesses, including those about loud music, construction, licensed premises and anti-social behaviour, and take appropriate action under relevant legislation such as the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Your duties will include carrying out site visits and out-of-hours monitoring, gathering evidence, serving abatement notices, and working with the police, licensing, and housing teams to resolve issues. You’ll need strong communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage a varied caseload in a busy inner-city borough. A relevant qualification or experience in environmental health or noise control is desirable.
This is a hybrid role, alternating weekly between 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, and 2 days in the office and 3 days remote. The current rate is £274 per day, and we are working with the client to negotiate a higher rate.
