Our client, based in the West Midlands, is looking for a competent Environmental Health Officer or Food Safety Officer to undertake Food Hygiene Inspections. The role will involve carrying out food hygiene inspections at a mix of unrated/new food business registrations and Category D premises.

Duties include:

  • Completing inspection report forms
  • Producing risk ratings in line with the Food Law Code of Practice
  • Preparing follow-up schedules of works where required

Food Standards inspections are not required and enforcement revisits are not expected. We need a suitably qualified and experienced EHO or FSO with proven competence in delivering food hygiene inspections in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice. Candidates must be able to work independently, manage their own workload, and produce clear, accurate inspection reports. Recent local authority experience and confidence working across a range of food premises would be advantageous.

This is a contract role running until the end of April, offering a competitive rate of £45 per hour (Umbrella). The position provides a focused inspection workload with no enforcement follow-up, making it well suited to an experienced officer.
