Responsibilities

  • As Deputy Team Manager on our clients’ Strategic Development Planning team you will lead an Area Team.
  • You will assist the team manager in supervising a team of planning officers, ensuring that delegated decisions are of a high quality and are efficiently administered.
  • A key feature of your role will be leading on PPAs, serving as a designated key contact for specific complex projects.
  • As required, you will attend relevant planning committees to present casework on behalf of the Council.
  • Apart from technical work, you will be involved in various management related duties that strive to ensure a programme of continuous improvement in development management, driving forward improvements in the quality and efficiency of working practices and the delivery of information.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for an established Local Authority DM Planner who has led major development schemes.
  • Given the management responsibilities tied to the role we are also looking for someone who is confident in this capacity and has undertaken similar duties within another Local Authority.
  • Good negotiation skills are absolutely essential since you will be working with a wide range of stakeholders.

Compensation

The rate is £55/hr (umbrella).
