Our local authority client based near East Midlands is seeking an experienced Housing Enforcement Officer with recent expertise in enforcement under the Housing Act 2004. The role involves:

  • Drafting and issuing enforcement notices
  • Issuing financial penalties
  • Representing the authority in Magistrates' Court and First-tier Tribunal proceedings

You will deliver a high-quality advice, information and enforcement service in relation to Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), ensuring properties are safe, well managed, and compliant with licensing requirements.

Applicants must have recent experience conducting housing inspections and hold, as a minimum, the HHSRS Certificate. Strong knowledge of HMO legislation and enforcement procedures is essential.

This is a full-time position requiring 2-3 days per week in the office. The initial contract is for three months, with pay rates available up to £45 per hour.
