The primary purpose of this role is to manage and develop our client's Domestic & Commercial Waste Collection Services and Clean & Green Services, including burials, street cleansing, arboriculture, parks and open spaces and general grounds maintenance, within budgets and ensuring that agreed standards of output are achieved and compliance with corporate priorities, legal requirements and commercial aspirations.
You will have responsibility for the procurement and management of external contractors related to all aspects of waste management and Clean & Green ensuring that the Council discharges its legal duties as a Waste Disposal Authority. You will manage the Household Waste and Recycling Centre in line with Environmental Permitting Regulations and the site working plan, including the commercial income and re-use facilities.
We are looking for a very well established senior manager who has operated at this level on numerous occasions. Your previous experience will have given you substantial, detailed knowledge of Local Authority contract procurement procedures and you will be heavily focused on delivering high performing, high value services. Strong leadership skills are absolutely essential and you will be very comfortable with the level of accountability that this role holds.
Contract Details: Initial contract will be 4-6 months. Pay rate is Β£103/hr, equivalent to Β£762/day (37hr week). The role is inside IR35.
