Our client based in Essex is looking for a highly-skilled manager to help manage their Private Sector Housing team for 2 days a week. As a key member of the Council’s Housing Leadership Team, you will be responsible for driving up standards in local housing stock for the benefit of its residents.

The Private Sector Housing Manager will undertake a key role in dealing with a range of hazards and problems associated with private sector housing. You will liaise with tenants, landlords, and other agencies, and have the opportunity and support to use the range of powers available to you to improve the housing standards and living conditions of some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

They are looking for experience in HHSRS/HMO Team Management as well as more complex/strategic work, including PFNs/POs/All notices under the Housing Act/Prosecutions. You will be managing a team of 5 people.

You will have the ability to lead our committed Private Sector Housing teams working towards this objective and to provide an excellent service to customers. You will also apply your excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to strengthen relationships with private landlords and letting agencies to help meet housing needs in the Borough.

If successful, you will be offered an initial 6-month contract paying £400-£450 per day depending on experience, and you can work part-time.
