We are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Hertfordshire for an experienced Food and Health & Safety Team Leader to join their service on an initial 12-week contract, with competitive market rates on offer and potential for extension. Hybrid working may be available, subject to service needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team delivering food safety and health & safety regulatory functions.
- Ensure statutory compliance and consistent service delivery.
- Allocate workload, provide technical oversight, and conduct quality assurance of inspections and enforcement activity.
- Support performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Substantial experience in Food Safety and Health & Safety within a UK local authority.
- Proven team leadership or management experience.
- Qualification in Environmental Health, EHRB registration, and strong knowledge of relevant legislation.
