We are seeking a dedicated Domestic / Laundry Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within our premises, ensuring a welcoming and hygienic environment for all residents, visitors and staff. Previous experience working in a care home is considered an advantage, reflecting the importance of delivering exceptional service and attention to detail. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional setting where your efforts contribute directly to the comfort and satisfaction of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise residents' rooms, communal areas, and facilities according to established standards.
- Ensure all surfaces are dust-free, floors are swept and mopped, and waste is disposed of appropriately.
- Report any maintenance issues or damages promptly for repair.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good condition and stock inventory as needed.
- Laundry duties including washing, drying, folding and transporting residents' clothes. In addition, you will be responsible for washing, drying, folding linen/towels (when scheduled to work in the Laundry).
- Support other team members with additional tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.
Experience
- Previous experience in a Care Home environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures, health & safety standards, and use of cleaning equipment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
Please note this role is 30 hours per week, including alternative weekends. This will mainly consist of 4 shifts per week at 8 hours long (with a 30-minute unpaid break). Shift times can be discussed at interview, however, they are typically 08:00 - 16:00.
