Key role supporting the firm’s strategic objectives by promoting and protecting its reputation through a comprehensive communication strategy that focuses on media relations and integrated communications, including digital content and internal communications.
What You'll Do
- Work with the Director and Head of Corporate Communications to develop and drive the firm’s communications strategies to support and align with business objectives.
- Coach, manage and inspire a large team with responsibility for PR, digital content, and internal communications.
- Develop a proactive media outreach strategy and build strong media relationships with business, trade and mainstream media.
- Build and manage a comprehensive internal communications and employee engagement plan that reinforces the firm’s brand and attracts, retains and develops talent.
- Guide the firm’s social and digital content to align with the brand, corporate narrative and employee value proposition.
- Play a key role in any incident, issue or crisis management to ensure coverage and commentary are accurate and fair.
- Ensure ongoing measurement of all team activities and support a continuous-improvement culture.
- Work closely with BD, Knowledge and Marketing teams to ensure that media coverage complements the firm’s go-to-market strategy.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive line-management experience, skilled in building, coaching and mentoring a cross-functional team.
- Proven track record of leading PR and integrated communications strategy in a corporate communications role.
- Significant strategic media-relations experience in a corporate or professional-services environment, with established relationships as a result.
- Significant reputational-risk management, crisis communications and issues-management experience.
- Strategic/advisory expertise and ability to earn trust and influence senior executives.
- Excellent emotional intelligence, relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
- Understanding of the role of social media in corporate communications.
- 360° approach to communications, considering non-media stakeholders such as employees and clients.
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills.
- Planning, process and project-management strengths.
- Familiarity with AI and willingness to learn.
- Media training.
- Self-motivated, proactive and flexible with the ability to embrace and capitalise on change.
- A calm and rational approach to problem-solving and critical thinking.
