Overview
In this role you will be a senior member of our Mobility Energy Projects practice, advising on energy regulation, market design, and commercial/transactional matters. You will help clients in renewables, storage and conventional power with complex grid, offtake, and route-to-market structures. The role combines high‑quality transactional work with cutting‑edge regulatory advisory, across multi‑jurisdictional matters. You will shape strategies, supervise juniors, and develop client relationships within a collaborative, growth‑oriented team.

Responsibilities
- Regulatory and market design advisory for generators, investors, and developers, including cross-border matters
- Drafting and negotiating grid connection, transmission, and use-of-system arrangements; due diligence for M&A and project finance
- Structuring and negotiating PPAs and related offtake instruments; exploring energy revenue stacks and merchant opportunities
- Supporting M&A and project finance with regulatory, grid and offtake workstreams; coordinating with specialists
- Client service, practice development, and thought leadership; supervising juniors and contributing to precedents
- Risk management and financials: budgeting, scope, timelines, and contributing to profitability
Key requirements
- Experience in energy regulation and commercial/transactional work in a leading law firm or energy company
- Strong track record advising on energy market areas noted above
- Ability to lead negotiations and interface with technical and financing teams
- Excellent drafting skills with ability to translate regulation into pragmatic advice
- Collaborative mindset and experience supervising juniors and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
