The role profile: Senior Associate in our IP Disputes practice in London focusing on Patents Disputes within the life sciences sector.

Overview: Our IP Disputes team is known for high‑profile, high‑value IP litigation with an international element, and for handling portfolio management for internationally recognised brands. We act in the High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Unified Patent Court on a range of matters including patents, designs, copyright, passing off, and trademark infringement.

Responsibilities: The role will mainly involve working with Will James, Tim Harris, and Trevor Crosse on complex pharmaceutical and biotech patent disputes. You will be responsible for taking a patent action from initial instructions through to trial, driving matters forward, and leading junior team members.

Team: The London IP Disputes team is led by Arty Rajendra and currently consists of 9 Partners, 3 Associate Directors, 4 Senior Associates, 5 Associates, 2 Trainee Solicitors, and 5 Paralegals.

Qualifications & Experience: Knowledge and experience of UK patent litigation at a firm with a strong reputation in this area. Studies or qualifications in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, immunology, or a similar field (highly beneficial). Understanding of the process of handling a patent action from initiation to trial.
