Osborne Clarke have a newly created Business Development Manager role within our Technology, Media & Telecoms sector in our London office. Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager for the sector, the role is responsible for setting and driving the BD strategy for our platforms practice, a significant growth opportunity for the firm. Building on established client relationships and a strong market position, this role will play a key part in delivering our revenue diversification and market positioning goals.

The platforms practice currently serves a portfolio of leading global technology platform clients, including Very Large Online Platforms, across social media, user generated content, marketplaces, e‑mobility, SaaS, and gig economy. This role will build on existing client relationships while driving expansion into new platform segments. Working with Partners, Marketing and Knowledge teams, you will develop and execute BD strategies to grow revenue, win new mandates and strengthen our cross‑border European reputation. This is a global role offering the intellectual challenge of working at the intersection of law, technology, and policy on issues shaping the digital economy. It requires occasional European travel.

You will manage the platforms BD budget and be supported by a shared BD Executive, shared BD Assistant and the Bids team for major Requests for Proposals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the platforms sector BD strategy, with a primary focus in Year 1 on diversifying revenue streams within existing platform clients, and working closely with the Marketing team to build a stronger market identity.
  • Identify new business opportunities and build relationships with key referrers in the platforms ecosystem.
  • Take accountability for commercial impact, interpreting financial and pipeline data to inform strategy.
  • Manage key client relationships for Tier 1 platform clients, coordinating with the Client Relationship Development team.
