Osborne Clarke are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our growing Commercial Finance and Pricing Team in our Bristol office. This role will play a crucial role in bolstering strategic financial planning and delivering insightful analysis that aligns with Osborne Clarke's strategic aims. This is an 18 month fixed term position offering hybrid working.

The Finance Business Partner will be a key member of the Commercial Finance and Pricing Team, promoting collaboration, team working, and innovation. This role will involve engaging with senior business leaders to support strategic decision-making and enhance the firm's pricing support proficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Acting as a trusted advisor to the leadership in your practice group and sectors, providing a higher level of insight, critical evaluation, and challenge to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Pricing Support: Enhancing the firm's pricing support proficiency by ensuring compliance with the pricing policy, assisting with bids and client profitability analysis, and continuous development of our commercial training programme.
  • Firmwide Projects: Participating in strategic and transformation change projects as defined in the Finance Tactical objectives, including taking a leading role on the firm's strategic profitability or productivity agendas.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging proactively with senior leadership to drive stakeholder engagement and support strategic decision-making. Collaborating with Operations Directors, HR, and Marketing to provide comprehensive cross-functional operational support.
  • Financial Reporting: Developing financial metrics and tools to support financial reporting, profitability growth, pricing strategies, and innovation. Automating and streamlining existing financial reporting processes, ensuring adaptability to stakeholder needs.
  • Commercial Training: Developing and conducting commercial finance training programs across Osborne Clarke to enhance financial acumen.
  • Line Management: Responsible for managing one Finance Analyst, developing their confidence & skills. Acting as a role model and coaching other analysts in the team.

We are looking for qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) candidates with a proven track record within a legal or professional services background. Experience of working as a Finance Business Partner or a similar commercial role. Demonstrated experience in a complex business environment, with a strong grasp of business strategy and commercial awareness. Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. The ability to write insightful financial and commercial commentaries based upon sound financial management. Proven ability to build and develop strong relationships within the business, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance people. Confidence to influence and challenge business decisions where appropriate. Advanced Excel skills, with experience in manipulating complex data sets and creating financial models. Ideally experience of legal pricing, this is not a prerequisite.
