b Overview /b p In this DevOps Engineer role, you will design, build and evolve our Azure-based cloud platform foundations to support IT and Software Engineering teams, while enabling AI capabilities across Azure and AWS. You’ll work with cross-functional groups to ensure secure, repeatable, and scalable cloud environments, delivering robust platforms that align with the firm’s priorities. This is a hands-on role with a focus on governance, automation, and collaboration, based in Bristol with hybrid working. You will contribute to ongoing cloud and AI initiatives and participate in a monthly server maintenance window. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li competitive salaries /li li generous benefits /li li health and wellbeing initiatives /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Design and build the Azure Cloud Platform foundations, including landing zones, structures and policy controls /li li Define centralized ingress/egress patterns aligned with security and governance /li li Shape platform identity, subscription/account structures and architectural controls /li li Act as DevOps and cloud platform SME providing guidance through design and service management /li li Develop Infrastructure as Code modules (Terraform) and deployment patterns /li li Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub and automation tooling) /li li Create standards, docs, and reusable patterns for cloud engineering /li li Maintain Dev/Test/Live environments with clear ownership and processes /li li Collaborate with Software Engineering to deploy AI capabilities on Azure and AWS /li li Support Azure Virtual Desktop and related Azure services for End User Computing /li li Implement monitoring, security controls, and cloud cost governance with FinOps /li li Apply ITIL practices and oversee releases, changes, incidents, problems, and improvements /li li Mentor and coach teams to raise cloud and DevOps capability /li li Balance project delivery with BAU work, including monthly maintenance window /li li Foster cross-team collaboration and professional service mindset across Business Services /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Demonstrable DevOps, cloud platform or infrastructure automation experience in a complex environment /li li Strong engineering judgment to turn architecture into working platforms /li li Experience coordinating and prioritising multi-team workstreams /li li Clear, accurate technical documentation and operational processes /li li Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines under time pressure /li li Experience coaching and mentoring colleagues and explaining technical concepts /li li Strong communication with stakeholders across IT Operations, Software Engineering, End User Computing, Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture and FinOps /li li Practical understanding of SDLC and ITIL/ITSM practices including incident, problem, change and continual improvement /li li Expert knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform, and reusable deployment patterns /li li Strong CI/CD experience for application and infrastructure delivery /li li Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP) /li li Experience with cloud platform/landing zone design, identity, network topology, governance controls /li li Knowledge of centralized cloud ingress/egress, private connectivity, DNS, firewalls, load balancing and Zero Trust /li li Experience supporting cloud-hosted applications and AI/data workloads in Azure or AWS is desirable /li li Experience in monitoring, observability, vulnerability scanning, backup, recovery and operational assurance for cloud services /li li Understanding of FinOps principles including tagging, cost allocation, budgeting, forecasting and optimisation /li li Azure Virtual Desktop experience desirable /li li Broad IT Operations knowledge including networking /li li Experience with ServiceDesk and incident/problem/change management tools /li /ul ul li Strong communication and stakeholder management /li li Mentoring and coaching capability /li li Collaborative and cross-functional teamwork /li li Terraform (IaC) /li li CI/CD pipelines (GitHub) /li li Azure (and AWS) cloud platforms /li /ul
