The Workflow Team Leader will be a key member of the Applications Support function within ITS, promoting collaboration, team working, and continuous improvement. You will provide line management to a team of developers, oversee technical delivery across multiple workflow platforms, and deputise for the Applications Workflow Manager at governance and service forums.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & People Management
    • Lead and manage up to six direct reports, including 1:1s, performance reviews, mentoring, and coaching.
    • Set clear goals and objectives, monitor performance, identify training and development needs, and facilitate learning opportunities.
    • Manage team resourcing and work allocation to meet business priorities.
  • Workflow Development & Platform Ownership
    • Oversee development for Business Process Management systems.
    • Act as a key contact for support and maintenance of workflow processes and systems, ensuring timely issue resolution.
    • Provide technical oversight and hands-on support where required.
  • Governance, Standards & Documentation
    • Ensure development practices align with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and ISO 27001 policies and procedures.
    • Oversee documentation, including process flow diagrams, progress reports, proposals, and technical specifications, maintaining a full audit history of changes and robust change management.
    • Capture and analyse business requirements, ensuring solutions meet business needs and end-user expectations.
  • Service Management, Change & Release
    • Attend and, when required, deputise at Change Advisory Board (CAB), Major Incident Management (MIM), and Service Management Review meetings.
    • Provide key updates to the ITS department and wider business, including IT Service Management communications.
    • Plan and manage release schedules; proactively manage timelines and scope; identify potential crises and devise contingency plans to maximise system availability.
  • BAU Workflow Sprint Management
    • Coordinate and supervise the BAU Workflow Sprint Development Process to ensure small development requests are delivered promptly and avoid backlog build-up.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Partner with Risk & Compliance, Finance, Real Estate, and legal teams to design and deliver process automation for heavily process-driven work types.
    • Build relationships with external suppliers providing specialist support on relevant applications.

We are looking for

  • Demonstrable experience in a workflow developer role, covering end-to-end process development and delivery, with the ability to lead and mentor others.
  • Proven leadership skills and a people-development mindset, with strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server skills, with exposure to programming practices.
  • Solid business analysis capability, including requirements capture and process mapping (e.g. Microsoft Visio).
  • Experience constructing and consuming web services and XML.
  • Good knowledge of the legal and IT sectors, with a clear understanding of the SDLC.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation (or higher) certification and experience operating in ISO 27001-accredited environments.
  • Analytical, adaptable, and organised, with excellent time management, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions, including when deputising for the Applications Workflow Manager.
  • Experience developing within Intapp Intake/Conflicts environments.
