Osborne Clarke is looking to further strengthen our Information Technology Services (ITS) team with the appointment of an Applications Workflow Developer, based in either our Bristol or London office. This role will play a key part in designing, developing and supporting the workflow applications and business processes that underpin how we onboard clients and matters, manage risk, authorise financial transactions and deliver process‑driven legal work across the firm. This is a 12 month fixed term position offering hybrid working.
The Applications Workflow Developer will sit within our ITS Applications Delivery team and will be responsible for building and maintaining a range of Business and Legal Process Management solutions, with a particular focus on Intapp Intake & Conflicts and finance‑related workflows. You will work closely with colleagues in Risk & Compliance, Finance and other Business Services and legal teams, translating business requirements into robust, user‑focused workflow solutions. You will take ownership of the technical design, development, support and maintenance of the workflow applications in your remit, ensuring they remain fit for purpose, up to date and aligned with best practice across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Delivery & Development: Lead and assist with the design, build and configuration of workflows using Intapp Intake & Conflicts and other Business/Legal Process Management solutions. Develop and maintain workflow applications to support Work Acceptance (client and matter inception), financial transaction authorisation and other business and legal process automation. Apply SDLC best practices throughout design, build, testing, deployment and release. Ensure solutions are aligned to business needs and user requirements, with particular focus on user experience (UX) and visual design. Create and maintain technical documentation including process flow diagrams, technical specifications and implementation notes.
- Support, Maintenance & Continuous Improvement: Act as the primary contact for all support and maintenance relating to Intapp Intake & Conflicts workflows and other workflow solutions within your responsibility. Perform ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting and issue resolution to maximise system availability. Assist with the management of system release schedules, identifying potential issues and devising contingency plans. Help ensure workflow platforms remain up to date, supported and in line with current best practice. Dynamically adapt and improve your technical skills as the role and technology stack evolve.
- Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement: Capture, analyse and document business requirements, or work closely with specialist Business Analyst resources where appropriate. Work with Risk & Compliance to support Client Matter Inception and other risk management processes. Partner with the Finance team to lead and assist on the technical design and development of finance‑related workflows. Collaborate with legal teams to identify and implement process automation for heavily process‑driven work types. Communicate effectively with stakeholders across Business Services and legal teams, promoting a culture of mutual understanding.
- Governance, Risk & Best Practice: Contribute to the continuous review and improvement of processes within ITS and the wider business. Maintain a heightened awareness of the risks associated with elevated access permissions and information security. Ensure all actions are undertaken in line with the firm’s Information Security Policy and current best practice. Build and manage relationships with external suppliers providing specialist support on your applications. Take ownership of all services and processes relating to the applications for which you are responsible.
