Our Business Support Team has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join their team. This role will involve working as part of a team providing central support across our 3 UK offices. You will be based in the Bristol office due to the nature of the role and the service provided to the firm.
This is a varied, hands-on position where you’ll be trusted with high-level administrative work, document production, billing support and involvement in ad-hoc projects that really make a difference to the way we work. You’ll build a strong internal network across Osborne Clarke, working closely with lawyers and business services colleagues, and using your organisational skills, attention to detail and IT know-how to keep things running smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary who enjoys being at the heart of a collaborative, professional and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide centrally based cover for our legal teams
- Provide effective high level administrative support to the legal teams and business services
- Knowledgeable of working practices within each Practice Group
- Deal with enquiries from colleagues and provide effective transfer of information
- Audio/copy typing
- Amend and format legal documentation and initiate/compose direct correspondence
- Understand and apply house style effectively to an expert level of proficiency
- Provide Billing and credit control procedures for lawyers and clients
- Supports the production of Business Development and marketing documents
- Involvement in ad-hoc projects as given by the Business Support Manager
- Work to continuously develop effective ways of working within the team and to identify ways of improving working practices
We are looking for
- An experienced Legal Secretary or someone who has worked in a similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build an internal network across Osborne Clarke's offices, departments and teams.
- Experience of digital dictation and audio typing.
- Ability to touch type.
- Experience of being able to work with a workflow management tool.
- Ability to work under pressure with little supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Calm and collected manner to instil confidence in clients and colleagues.
- Essential to be organised and be able to prioritise work.
- Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Workshare, PowerPoint, Interaction etc).
- Good time and performance management.
