We are looking for a Learning and Development Administrator, known internally as a People Development Administrator, to join our People Development team and support the delivery of our People Development strategy. This role will support the full People Development offering, including our Trainee, Solicitor Apprentice, Lawyer & Partner development, Firm induction and our Business Services and PA development initiatives. You will have the opportunity to be involved in our annual programmes as well as helping to support the growth of our OC Manager initiative. This is a permanent role based out of our Bristol office with some home working too, and we're happy to consider both full-time and four days a week working patterns for this position. We are a supportive team and you will become a pivotal part of the People Development function, benefitting from 1:1 management and support, exposure to the team and our respective expertise as well as insight into the firm, our culture and development programmes. On successful completion of your probation, we can also support you working towards a CIPD qualification or similar if this is a step you would like to consider.

What you'll do

  • Email and calendar management: Monitor and triage emails in the People Development inbox, respond or escalate as necessary, and manage calendar invitation responses.
  • Firmwide Induction support: Supporting the People Development Assistant with administrative support for the fortnightly firmwide induction.
  • Solicitor Apprentice and Trainee inductions: Working with the Future Lawyer administrator to assist with sending invitations, booking rooms and arranging sessions for the annual Future Lawyer induction.
  • Development programmes support: Collaborate with People Development Managers and Advisors to schedule sessions, confirm speaker availability, send invitations, and manage all supporting documents for our development programmes.
  • OC Manager support: Working with the People Development Manager to provide all administrative support for our OC Manager programme.
  • OC Mentoring programme: Facilitate the delivery of the OC Mentoring programme by monitoring sign-up forms, responding to requests and queries, and ensuring relevant documentation is up to date.
  • Intranet updates: Update the team's intranet pages using SharePoint (full training will be provided).
  • Document and data management: Maintain the team's tracking documents (e.g., PD events calendar, coaching and mentoring trackers) and management information data.
  • Invoice processing: Process and track invoices efficiently.
  • Solicitors Qualifying Exams: Handle bulk ordering of exam vouchers, send out voucher codes, and track results.
  • Seating plan support: Assist the Future Lawyer team with data inputting and administrative support for Trainee and Solicitor Apprentice seating plans.
  • Travel and accommodation arrangements: Organise travel and accommodation as required.

What We're Looking For

We seek an individual with exceptional organisational skills and a commitment to consistently delivering high-quality work. While prior experience in a law firm is not required, you should be confident in managing multiple workflows, prioritising tasks, and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Administrative Tasks: This role involves a mix of administrative tasks, offering opportunities to complete some independently while others will be fully supervised.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. While you don't need to be a business English expert from day one, support will be available to help you develop your corporate skill set.
  • Relationship Building: You will collaborate with colleagues across the UK business, so the ability to build relationships with people at all levels of seniority is valuable.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is required, and the ability to identify efficiencies or opportunities to improve processes is advantageous.
  • Adaptability and Problem-Solving: An adaptable approach to work, with the ability to problem-solve and tackle challenges head-on, is essential.
  • Prioritisation: The ability to prioritise your work effectively, including seeking support and input from others when needed to complete tasks efficiently.
