We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our IP Disputes team in London to focus on our Patents Disputes practice, particularly within the life sciences sector.
The practice Our IP Disputes team is known for acting in high profile, high value IP litigation with an international element, as well as handling portfolio management matters for internationally recognised brands. We are currently acting in litigation in the High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Unified Patent Court (UPC) on a range of matters encompassing patents, designs, copyright, passing off, and trade mark infringement. In patents disputes, we regularly act for leading companies in the life sciences, telecommunications and digital business sectors. Our sector-focussed approach ensures that we have valuable expertise in the areas in which our clients operate and deep understanding of the issues that they face.
The role will mainly be working with Will James, Tim Harris, and Trevor Crosse, who specialise in complex pharmaceutical and biotech patent disputes. All three recognised in the key legal and IP directories.
The team The London IP Disputes team is led by Arty Rajendra and is currently made up of 9 Partners, 3 Associate Directors, 4 Senior Associates, 5 Associates, 2 Trainee Solicitors, 5 Paralegals.
Technical skills and experience This role will work primarily with Will James, Tim Harris, and Trevor Crosse on pharma and biotech patent matters. Knowledge and experience of UK patent litigation gained at a firm with a strong reputation in this area is essential, and studies/qualifications in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, immunology or similar fields would be highly beneficial. We are looking for a Senior Associate who understands the process of taking a patent action from initial instructions all the way through to trial, and who will drive matters forward and lead more junior members of the team.
