Location: Wellingborough

Hours: Monday to Friday

Salary: £15.38 an hour, weekly pay

Temporary Opportunity until Christmas - Immediate Start Available

OA are currently looking to recruit for an experienced Soldering Technician to join a well-established client based in Wellingborough, on a temporary basis to support the team.

Duties of a Soldering Technician:

  • Removal, replacement and reflow of BGA components using an automated hot air convection machine.
  • Surface mount land preparation for PCB and ICs using desoldering methods.
  • Reballing BGA ICs; removal of solder spheres then attaching new ones using automated equipment.
  • Visual inspection for any circuit shorts or insufficient solder after placement process using a microscope.
  • Carry out board modifications based on customer specifications.
  • Maintain strict adherence to quality processes and highlight any gaps or improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and procedures.

What we would like from you:

  • Experience with manual soldering methods on surface mount or through hole is required.
  • Familiar with BGA rework principles is desirable.
  • Knowledge of IPC 7711/7721 standards will be useful.
  • Experienced in using a microscope.
  • Proven experience in field service or electronics repair roles, especially with soldering or rework tasks.
  • Hands-on experience using hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, tweezers, and screwdrivers in electronics environments.
