The Company is a manufacturer of low voltage switchgear. The position of Trainee Electrical Project Engineer would be based at the Company premises located in St. Albans, Hertfordshire.

Interest in the electrical industry is essential to be successful in this role. The ideal candidate should be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel. The ability to use AutoCAD is desirable but not essential. Training and support for this position will be provided. The successful candidate will be expected to learn as they develop into the role. This would include spending time in the manufacturing departments and providing administrative support to the electrical project engineers.

Ultimately (in time) the main roles with this position will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Controlling projects from receipt of contract to installation and commissioning.
  • Responsibility for all commercial and technical aspects of projects.
  • Liaise with clients and their representatives.
  • Attend site meetings with clients and their representatives.
  • Liaise with suppliers in ascertaining the suitability of electrical components for particular projects.
  • Liaise with the Company’s draughting engineers and production team.
