Hours: Full time – flexible hours between 7:00am and 10:00pm (weekend availability highly desirable)

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a PCB Assembler / Electronics Production Technician to join our client’s successful and growing team. Immediate interviews are available for suitable candidates.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working within electronics manufacturing who is looking for a more varied, hands-on role within a close-knit and highly skilled team. Candidates with SMT, AOI or SMT machine operating/programming experience will be highly desirable and may attract a higher salary level depending on experience.

Duties of a PCB Assembler / Electronics Production Technician:

  • Assemble PCBs to IPC-A-610 Class 2 and 3 standards
  • Carry out high-quality through-hole/conventional soldering with speed and accuracy
  • Conduct visual inspection of PCBAs to ensure quality standards are met
  • Test assembled circuit boards and identify faults where required
  • Carry out PCB rework, repair and component replacement
  • Complete electronic sub-assemblies and box build work where required
  • Follow technical drawings, assembly instructions and production documentation accurately
  • Maintain accurate production records and quality standards
  • Work within company quality management systems and procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across production processes

Desirable additional skills:

  • SMT soldering, rework and component replacement
  • AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) machine operation
  • SMT machinery setup, operation or programming
  • Previous experience within a Contract Electronics Manufacturer (CEM) environment

What we would like from you:

  • Previous PCB assembly or electronics manufacturing experience
  • Proven through-hole soldering experience to IPC-A-610 Class 2/3 standards
  • Excellent soldering skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and circuit diagrams
  • Experience with PCB inspection, testing and rework
  • Ability to identify electronic components and place them accurately
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently to production targets
  • Strong concentration and ability to follow written instructions
  • Reliable, motivated and team-oriented approach
  • Candidates confident completing a high-quality soldering test within 45 minutes are highly encouraged to apply
  • Flexibility to work weekends would be highly advantageous
