OA are recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our client’s growing team. The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance across all departments. This includes production, logistics, health & safety, and quality systems, with a strong focus on maintaining and improving standards in line with BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards) and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certifications.
Location: Letchworth
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm or 8.00am – 5.00pm. One day working from home following successful probation.
Salary: £40,000-£60,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage daily operations to ensure production targets and customer expectations are consistently met
- Monitor performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate across departments including production, warehousing, and distribution
- Manage budgets, resources, and operational costs effectively
- Maintain and continuously improve BRCGS certification standards
- Ensure full compliance with FSC requirements across sourcing, production, and documentation
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring readiness at all times
- Manage corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
- Keep up to date with changes in certification standards
- Ensure a safe working environment in line with all relevant legislation
- Promote a strong health & safety culture
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate controls
- Lead, mentor, and develop operational teams
- Set clear objectives and performance expectations
- Support recruitment, training, and succession planning
- Foster a positive and high-performance culture
- Oversee stock control, procurement, and supplier performance
- Ensure efficient inventory management and traceability systems
- Maintain strong supplier relationships, particularly with FSC-certified suppliers
- Ensure operational processes align with customer requirements
- Work closely with sales and customer service teams
Skills and Experience:
- At least 10 years’ proven experience in an Operations Manager role
- Strong knowledge of BRCGS standards
- Experience with FSC-certified supply chains
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills
- Commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
- Degree in Operations, Business, or related field (preferred)
- BRCGS Internal Auditor qualification (desirable)
- IOSH/NEBOSH (desirable)
