About the Company

Our client is a successful and growing organisation looking to recruit a Facilities Assistant to join their team in Hatfield. Working closely with the Facilities Manager / Health & Safety Officer, this role will provide day-to-day support across workplace facilities, supplier coordination, health & safety administration and general office operations. This is a varied role suited to someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys taking ownership of ensuring the workplace remains safe, compliant and well maintained.

  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Support the Facilities Manager with the day-to-day running of workplace facilities
  • Act as a point of contact for colleagues, visitors, contractors and suppliers
  • Support reception activities including visitor management and incoming calls
  • Maintain a safe, clean and professional working environment across the site
  • Coordinate maintenance requests, contractor visits and facilities-related actions
  • Support supplier management including cleaning, maintenance and workplace services
  • Maintain accurate facilities records, compliance documents and supplier information
  • Assist with health & safety administration including audits, inspections and safety records
  • Support fire safety processes, workplace checks and compliance requirements
  • Coordinate facilities supplies, purchase requests and invoice administration
  • Support office moves, meeting room preparation and workplace projects
  • Identify improvements to facilities processes and colleague experience

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience within facilities, office administration, reception, workplace support or a similar role
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicating with colleagues, visitors, suppliers and contractors
  • Proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good administrative skills including record keeping and document control
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on role and supporting a wide range of facilities activities
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Positive, reliable and solution-focused approach
  • Desirable: Experience supporting facilities, maintenance, suppliers or contractors
  • Experience within a warehouse, manufacturing, logistics or operational environment
  • IOSH, NEBOSH or facilities-related qualification
