Duties of a Distribution Supervisor
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of approximately 20 warehouse associates through two Team Leaders
- Drive performance, productivity and accountability across the distribution operation
- Monitor daily operational KPIs and turnaround times, taking action where required to achieve targets
- Support, coach and develop Team Leaders and warehouse staff to maximise performance
- Lead by example on the warehouse floor and maintain a hands-on approach to leadership
- Oversee daily workflow, resource planning and labour allocation
- Conduct return-to-work meetings and support employee wellbeing and attendance management
- Ensure all quality, safety and compliance standards are consistently met
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiencies
- Support the onboarding and training of new employees
- Participate in shift handovers and provide operational updates to management
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and safety across the warehouse
What we would like from you
- Previous experience within a distribution, warehouse or logistics environment
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Experience managing Team Leaders or Supervisors would be highly advantageous
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations including receiving, pick, pack and dispatch
- Ability to motivate, coach and develop people
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and confidence making decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Good IT skills and confidence using warehouse systems
- Flexible and proactive approach to work
- Fork Lift Truck licences (VNA and Counterbalance) would be advantageous but are not essential
