Location: Bury St Edmunds
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week (07:00am – 15:00pm, with one day finishing at 14:30pm. Occasional weekend cover required.)
Pay: £15.59 per hour
Duties of a Chef:
- Leading the kitchen team to deliver nutritious, high-quality meals
- Planning and creating seasonal menus to meet a range of dietary requirements
- Managing food budgets, stock control and supplier relationships
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations
- Maintaining accurate kitchen records and due diligence procedures
- Supporting, training and developing members of the kitchen team
- Monitoring kitchen cleanliness, equipment and safe working practices
- Delivering an excellent dining experience for residents
What we would like from you:
- Previous experience as a Chef within a care, community or similar catering environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Good knowledge of food allergens and dietary requirements
- A Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above)
- Excellent understanding of food safety, HACCP and COSHH
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage budgets and stock
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
