The predicted salary is between 15.59 - 15.59 £ per hour.

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week (07:00am – 15:00pm, with one day finishing at 14:30pm. Occasional weekend cover required.)

Pay: £15.59 per hour

Duties of a Chef:

  • Leading the kitchen team to deliver nutritious, high-quality meals
  • Planning and creating seasonal menus to meet a range of dietary requirements
  • Managing food budgets, stock control and supplier relationships
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations
  • Maintaining accurate kitchen records and due diligence procedures
  • Supporting, training and developing members of the kitchen team
  • Monitoring kitchen cleanliness, equipment and safe working practices
  • Delivering an excellent dining experience for residents

What we would like from you:

  • Previous experience as a Chef within a care, community or similar catering environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Good knowledge of food allergens and dietary requirements
  • A Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above)
  • Excellent understanding of food safety, HACCP and COSHH
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage budgets and stock
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
