Duties of a Paint Line Operative:
- Set up and operate CNC punch press machinery in accordance with job specifications.
- Configure machine programs, tooling, and dies based on technical drawings and production requirements.
- Load sheet metal materials safely and ensure correct alignment and positioning.
- Perform test runs and make adjustments to achieve accurate cuts, shapes, and hole patterns.
- Monitor machine performance throughout production and respond to alarms or irregularities.
Requirements:
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience operating CNC punch press machinery, with the ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and fabrication specifications.
- Industry Experience: Typically 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in sheet‑metal fabrication or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Software Knowledge: Familiarity with CAM programming software such as Amada AP100, BySoft, or equivalent systems used for punch press setup and nesting.
- Mechanical & Measurement Skills: Competent use of measuring tools (calipers, gauges, rulers) and strong understanding of tooling, dies, and material behaviour.
