OA are currently working with a well established client based in Bedford, currently looking to recruit for an experienced HGV Driver to support the delivery and collection of products across the UK.
Duties of a HGV Driver:
- Safely operate an HGV to deliver furniture and goods to commercial client sites across the UK, with typically 1–5 deliveries per day depending on location and route.
- Load, secure, transport and unload goods safely, ensuring products arrive in excellent condition and on schedule.
- Provide professional customer service at delivery locations, communicating clearly and courteously with clients and representing the company positively.
- Complete occasional collections from suppliers, clients or other locations as required, ensuring all relevant paperwork and delivery documentation is completed accurately.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and comply with all relevant driving, vehicle, health & safety and transport regulations.
What we would like from you:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, with a good driving record.
- Previous HGV driving experience, ideally involving long-distance / nationwide deliveries and commercial customer sites.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional, reliable and courteous approach when dealing with clients.
- Strong understanding of safe loading, securing and handling of goods, with good attention to detail.
- Reliable, organised and comfortable working independently, managing longer journeys and varying delivery schedules with a 'get the job done' attitude.
