Office + Hybrid 50k - £80k - dependant on depth of experience

The role: To support the Head of Client Accounting in managing the property management accounts team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with RICS regulations and client requirements, and delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.

Duties:

  • Responsible for excellent client service delivery on a major client, with full support.
  • Assist in managing and mentoring the accounts team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of team members.
  • Act as deputy for the Head of Client Accounting when required.
  • Oversee preparation and review of service charge accounts and reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash flow, arrears, and client funds compliance.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting processes as well support system upgrades and automation initiatives.
  • Act as a key point of contact for property managers and clients.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Manage service charge budgets and year-end reconciliations in line with RICS and The Property Institute standards.
  • Ensure adherence to HMRC requirements, including VAT returns and tax reporting.

Requirements:

  • Experience of onboarding and off boarding new portfolios.
  • Experience within Residential and/or Mixed Use Property portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of property management accounting and service charge legislation.
  • Experience managing complex portfolios and liaising with multiple stakeholders.
  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (and ACCA/CIMA) desirable.
